Robert L. Purdon, MD

Dr. Purdon hails from the Williamsburg, Virginia, area. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Purdon completed his internship and his residency in radiation oncology at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco, California.
Dr. Purdon also has completed a fellowship with the American Cancer Society and a Masters in Business Administration at the University of South Florida.
He is a founding member of the Academy of Hospice Physicians and has served as the medical director for Hospice of Lake and Sumter Counties for over 15 years. Additional interests include the use of alternative medicine and supportive care in the patient with cancer.
Dr. Purdon also has received specialized training in prostate brachytherapy and in vascular brachytherapy for the prevention of arterial restenosis.
Dr. Purdon is board certified in radiation oncology.
