I received my medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. My residency in radiation oncology was completed at Georgetown University Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncology in Washington, D.C., where I served as Chief Resident. I pursued additional specialty training in intraoperative radiation oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and hyperthermia at the Mallincrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. I remained on staff at Georgetown as the Clinical Director of the Intraoperative Radiation Oncology Program. I invented a special diaphragmatic applicator for treatment of ovarian cancer. I have also been trained in ultrasonically guided Iodine-125/Palladium-103 Seed Implantation for treatment of early stage prostate cancer. I am board certified in radiation oncology.
